Case Aide (on-call) – San Leandro
Alternative Family Services is seeking an on‑call Case Aide to support foster youth in the San Leandro and Alameda counties. The role provides emergency placement into safe homes during evenings and weekends, with a flexible schedule for part‑time/as‑needed work.
Location San Leandro, CA
Base Pay $19.00/hr – $20.00/hr
Additional Compensation
$50/hr during emergency placement
$1.20/hr differential for Bilingual (Spanish/English)
$35 stipend per shift while on standby (no hourly rate paid while on standby)
IRS standard mileage reimbursement
Generous sick pay accrual
Responsibilities
Provide support services to the child and foster family
Deliver coaching, mentoring, skill building, and tutoring interventions
Respond to emergencies during evenings and weekends
Ensure the safety and well‑being of the foster child at all times
Transport children to a variety of settings using a personal vehicle in safe working order
Submit written documentation of visitations and activities to CPS workers
Adhere to HIPAA privacy practices
Comply with attendance and punctuality policy
Needed Upon Hire
Obtain fingerprint and government background clearances
Spanish preferred
Interact calmly and professionally with clients who may act out
Collaborate with co‑workers, county representatives, and other treatment team members
Work with minimal direct supervision
Possess a high level of integrity, honesty, and strong work ethic
CPR/First Aid certification
Driving Requirements Position requires daily access to a vehicle in safe working order. Employee must possess a valid CA driver’s license and valid automobile insurance with his/her name on the verification card as an insured driver on the policy at all times.

$19/hour standard pay rate
$1.20/hour differential for Bilingual (Spanish/English)
