Body Technician - Classic Collision

Salary:
$70,000 – $175,000 per year.

Responsibilities
Complete disassembly of vehicles to assist collision estimators in assessing damage and preparing a 100% repair plan.
Identify all needed repairs to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time.
Plan work procedures and follow the work order for all operations listed.
Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic windows, and seat operating equipment to gain access to damaged areas of the vehicle; store parts on carts or cover to prevent damage.
Repair damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; ensure all gaps and fits meet industry standards; remove damaged panels and bolts or weld replacement parts into position and reassemble after parts are painted.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns).
File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces before passing vehicle to the paint department.
Repair or replace defective parts.
Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Comply with all Classic Collision standard operating procedures, safety rules, and guidelines.
Qualifications
Minimum age 18 years.
I-CAR / ASE certifications preferred.
2‑3 years of collision repair experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Customer‑focused attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
Successful completion of background check required.
Physical & Environmental While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk for long periods at a time, occasionally reach with hands, arms, and move objects up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Abilities for assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned are also required.
