Position Summary Editor for Vertical Drama plays a key hands‑on role in shaping fast‑paced, serialized storytelling for vertical platforms. Working closely with the Lead Editor and creative team, this position supports the entire post process — from organizing footage and building assemblies to crafting short edits and polishing final cuts for release. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail‑oriented storyteller who understands how to engage audiences through vertical, short‑form drama content.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in all stages of post production for vertical drama series and short‑form narrative content.
Ingest, organize, and sync footage while maintaining efficient media workflows.
Build rough cuts, string‑outs, and edits following creative direction.
Edit scenes, teasers, and social cutdowns under the supervision of the Lead Editor.
Add temp sound, music, captions, and light motion graphics as needed.
Prepare and deliver content optimized for vertical formats and various social platforms.
Collaborate closely with producers, editors, and directors to ensure creative consistency.
Maintain version control and assist with QC checks on all final exports.
Track and meet fast‑paced delivery schedules while maintaining high quality.
Stay up to date with trends in vertical storytelling, editing styles, and platform best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
1–3 years of experience in video editing or post production, preferably in vertical content.
Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro; experience in After Effects or DaVinci Resolve a plus.
Familiarity with
AI-powered editing tools and workflows
(e.g., automatic transcription, smart selects, AI-assisted color, or generative tools for post).
Strong understanding of vertical video composition, pacing, and storytelling for mobile audiences.
Excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple edits and deadlines simultaneously.
Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a high‑volume creative environment.
Passion for narrative storytelling and emerging content formats.
Preferred Skills
Experience editing short‑form narrative or social‑first video content.
Familiarity with current platform algorithms and best practices.
Basic knowledge of sound design, color correction, or VFX.
Able to work on multiple projects at once.
Creative problem solver with a strong visual sense and attention to detail.
