Resident Aide (RA)
– The Grand Healthcare System
Pay range:
Base pay: $16.00/hr – $16.00/hr
Position Overview This entry‑level position offers a meaningful opportunity to start a career in the medical field while supporting the daily needs of our residents. The Resident Aide works closely with the nursing and interdisciplinary team to provide care and support in a compassionate, high‑quality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the transport of residents who do not require weight‑bearing assistance.
Pass out clothing protectors before mealtime.
Distribute meal trays and assist with meal set‑up as needed.
Provide dining assistance to residents as necessary.
Make beds, straighten rooms, and refill water pitchers.
Round on units to ensure cleanliness.
At the end of each shift, check shower rooms, kitchen area, clean and soiled utility rooms, and other shared areas on the unit for cleanliness.
Answer call bells promptly and professionally.
Complete any other duties assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Solid moral character, patience, and a positive attitude toward the geriatric population.
Ability and willingness to follow direction and learn new concepts and procedures.
Completion of general orientation and in‑servicing, including hand washing, infection control, transporting, bed making, tray set‑up, and body mechanics.
Must be able to remain on feet almost 100 % of the workday.
Must have a full range of motion to allow for kneeling, reaching, pulling, etc., while performing job duties.
Physically able to lift or move up to 35 lbs without assistance.
