We are seeking an experienced Diesel Tech who can accurately inspect, maintain, and repair diesel engines. You will use computer software and your knowledge of engines to diagnose issues and work with our skilled team to keep our fleet moving America forward.
Diesel Technician/Mechanic Job Responsibilities
Make various adjustments, alignments and repairs to correct any vehicle deficiencies
Conduct inspections, test drives, and diagnostic tests to determine the condition of our fleet vehicles
Test engine safety and combustion control standards to comply with federal and state vehicle requirements
Record service and repairs to maintain accurate vehicle records
Complete preventative maintenance, install part upgrades, check tires and suspension
Follow operating instructions, troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain supplies, perform preventative maintenance and call for repairs to keep shop equipment operational
Collaborate with coworkers to get repairs done in a timely manner
Stay up‑to‑date on industry advances by reading publications, talking with peers, continuing education and joining industry‑related forums
Diesel Technician/Mechanic Job Requirements
MUST HAVE A GOOD DRIVING RECORD, BE OVER 21.
Vocational training in Diesel Mechanics or equivalent experience
1‑3 years of experience in related field
Proven knowledge of engine components
Strong communication and customer service skills
ASE Certification a plus
Experience working on Freightliner, Volvo, Mack and International Trucks, Certification preferred
TWIC and CDL License a plus
Attention to detail
Ability to work with a team
