Under the direct supervision of the Lead Installer, the HVAC Installer will assist in installing air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems in both multi-family and single-family homes. Installers must follow proper codes and adhere to our company's strict quality standards. Punctuality and readiness to work are essential. Work Hours:
7:00 am – 4:00 pm CST, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Reports to:
HVAC Supervisor/Lead Installer Required Qualifications: Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR. Must be drug-free and able to pass all drug screenings, including new-hire and random tests. Ability to pass a background check. High School Diploma or GED. Willingness to invest in necessary HVAC tools. Motivated to undergo training for career advancement. Commitment to developing customer service and communication skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Safety Guidelines: Operate hand and power tools safely. Work at heights and in confined spaces using ladders. Follow safe lifting procedures. Use full body motion including climbing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, reaching, lifting, bending, and twisting. Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly Duties: Purchase required tools as listed. Arrive punctually at the job site. Operate company vehicle as needed. Follow supervisor and lead installer instructions. Report tool or vehicle issues promptly. Maintain professional appearance and attitude. Work under supervision at all times. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude. Unload supplies and equipment. Attend meetings and training sessions. Develop customer service, communication, and teamwork skills. Perform other duties as assigned. Within 6 months, develop skills in: Metal & wood hole cutting Duct installation and connection Framing and nailing outlets Installing flex and duct to code and standards Proper venting and installation of bath fans Gas line installation (no hookups) Progression to Level 2 includes observing a Lead Journeyman, studying, and enrolling in Gastite and EPA classes. Certification to Level 2 is expected. Gas Tree Construction Performance Indicators: Key metrics to evaluate the HVAC Installer – Level 1 include: Project schedule adherence Work site and vehicle cleanliness Number of callbacks due to workmanship issues Accuracy of paperwork, including time cards Proper installation of fittings Maintenance and proper use of tools and equipment
