Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Roseville, Michigan.

Pay & Schedule
$36.45 per hour
Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)
Sign‑On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
Schedule: Tuesday‑Saturday, 3:00 pm‑11:30 pm (Second Shift)

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical Certification/Post‑secondary degree (preferred)
Basic tools required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work), basic diagnostics, and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred)
All other certification as required by location (required)
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment
Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Must pass a Ryder Drug Test
Must pass a DOT physical
Must pass a Ryder road test
Must pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Additional Requirements Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance
Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
Replace defective components as instructed
Work unsupervised on most tasks
Perform facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once a task is assigned
Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
Demonstrate ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents
Other support duties as required to support operations (including but not limited to Service Island support)
SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)
Complete 2 of the OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses as required by location (predominant OEM of fleet mix completed within 365 days)
