Stolle Machinery Company LLC
CNC Horizontal Boring & Milling Programmer-Operator
Stolle Machinery Company LLC, North Canton, Ohio, United States
Overview
You arrive to a clean workstation, pull up a blueprint, and translate GD&T into a workable plan. You choose the right pathway—Mazatrol, Celos, conversational programming, or direct G/M code—to program a CNC Horizontal Milling Center or CNC Boring Mill. You mount tools and fixtures, set work offsets, transfer programs from the server to the CNC over the network, verify coolant and lubrication, and begin the cut. Throughout the run, you listen for vibration or a dull tool, make offsets, record operational data, and measure parts to spec with precision instruments. By shift end, the machine is cleaned, tooling is maintained, and records are updated so the next job starts smoothly. Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate a CNC Horizontal Milling Center or CNC Boring Mill to machine metal workpieces while maintaining quality and safety standards and keeping accurate records. Create or edit programs using Mazatrol or Celos, alongside G- and M-codes and other conversational controls, directly from drawings with a solid command of GD&T. Preferred background with Mazatrol 640M, Mazatrol Smooth, Tosnuc, or Celos. Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces using hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Review program specifications and blueprints to define operations, sequencing, finished dimensions, and numerical control steps. Transfer commands from servers to CNC modules via computer network links; insert control instructions to initiate operation. Start machines, monitor operations, check lubrication and cooling, and record operational data. Measure dimensions of finished parts using micrometers, templates, gauges, and fixtures to ensure conformance. Make machine and tooling adjustments per product specifications using gauges and hand tools. Inspect for defects (e.g., chipped edges, marred surfaces) and sort nonconforming parts by flaw type. Pause equipment to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement according to required sequences. Detect issues such as tool wear or excessive vibration by sound/feel; replace dull cutters and compensate with appropriate machine adjustments. Perform offsets, program edits, and operate computer-controlled machines to execute one or more machining functions. Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned. Qualifications
Mechanical: Strong understanding of machine and tool design, use, repair, and maintenance. Continuous learning: Stay current through training and technical publications. Production and processing: Familiarity with raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and efficiency methods. Mathematics: Trigonometry, algebra, and geometry applied to machining. Physical and Mental Demands
Control precision; arm‑hand steadiness; manual dexterity; near vision. Reaction time and rate control for anticipating speed/direction changes. Problem sensitivity to recognize when conditions are off‑normal. Deductive reasoning and perceptual speed for comparing features and patterns quickly and accurately. Proficiency Expected
