Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Rush Enterprises, Inc is seeking an

experienced mobile diesel technician

to maintain fleets for clients and handle service calls at client locations. As a mobile diesel technician, you will provide expedited expertise directly to our customer’s trucks and equipment on site, supporting a wide range of manufacturers such as Peterbilt, International, Hino, Isuzu, Ford, IC Bus, and Blue Bird. Responsibilities

Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards. Perform basic truck maintenance, including fuel top‑off, oil checks, cleaning, and required inspections. Manage inventory on the service truck and ensure proper stocking. Report to the Service Manager and accept daily duties. Be available for after‑hours service calls and an open work schedule. Maintain and inventory supplied tools for diesel engine trucks and related equipment. Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, and determine malfunctions. Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform correct repair procedures. Diagnose, remove, and replace components such as injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other parts. Execute all diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system. Inspect protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices; make necessary adjustments. Lubricate moving parts and verify vehicle conformance to specifications. Perform preventive maintenance as requested. Submit necessary paperwork or enter job details into the mobile service program accurately and timely. Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive customer relations. Advise customers and/or service writers about upcoming necessary repairs within the next three months. Participate in training and apply that training to work. Benefits

High school diploma or GED. At least 5 years of experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility. Current CDL preferred but not required. Medical card as required by FMVS. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability. Warranty of Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and ASE certifications is preferred and rewarded.
