Case Manager / Rural Outreach Advocate Domestic Violence Intervention Services, Inc.

The case manager assists clients in obtaining needed services, education and financial assistance in the community.

Responsibilities Priority 1: Equity and Inclusion

Reflect and understand how identities could give advantages in the workplace—even if they are not asked for or earned—while others might experience disadvantages.

Build the awareness and compassion that is needed and expected to create an equitable and inclusive workplace.

Create an inclusive environment and behave in a way that ensures that clients and employees feel embraced, no matter what their cultural orientations are, respected and valued, engaged, and connected to the community, and safe from abuse and harassment.

Priority 2: Case Management

Safety planning with all survivors.

Responsible for case management services for immediate survivor needs that include referrals for education, education assistance, job training and other public assistance.

Assist survivors in locating and securing housing.

Provide/arrange for education to include interpersonal violence, financial literacy that includes checkbook management, budgeting and money management and other skills for daily living.

Advocate for survivors within the criminal justice system as well as the health care system.

Provide referrals to DVIS programs to include legal assistance, protective order assistance and advocacy, counseling services, childcare, group counseling and support groups, and children’s counseling.

Assist with protective orders in the DVIS Creek County Office.

Assist survivors with short and long‑term solutions for transportation.

Responsible for conducting follow‑up.

Priority 3: Community Resources, Response and Coordination

Identify community resources to meet each individual’s needs by providing referrals to partner organizations.

Assist with coordinating a community response to interpersonal violence.

Conduct community outreach and build strong community relationships.

Maintain a comprehensive directory of local services to include housing, financial assistance, educational assistance, job training, job placement services and childcare resources.

Priority 4: Statistical and Grant Reporting

Responsible for keeping statistics and providing reports as requested.

Other Duties & Responsibilities Other assistance to support the overall goals of the department and organization. DVIS retains the right to add or change duties and/or responsibilities at any time.

Requirements Education Bachelor’s in Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related degree preferred, or equivalent work experience with victims of crime and the following job‑related experience.

Experience Requires a minimum of one year’s experience in working with individuals and groups in a social service or mental health environment; experience working with a nonprofit is preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience, lived experience, and/or special skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite, are necessary.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Knowledge of or experience working with social justice issues, specifically intimate partner, and gender‑based domestic and sexual violence, and racial, class, gender, sexual orientation issues, and intervention/prevention services strongly preferred.

Requires dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, excellent organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and tasks.

Requires adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, multi‑task, and changing environment, with frequent pressure related to meeting deadlines and scheduling requirements.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.

Knowledge and experience with collecting and researching data.

Ability to calculate and work with numbers while staying within a budget.

Requires the ability to embrace, support, and integrate DVIS’s philosophies to promote and demonstrate DVIS’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti‑racism.

Experience applying an equitable analysis to all duties to achieve organizational goals and demonstrate DVIS’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti‑racism preferred.

Diplomacy in confronting personal, individual, and internal discrimination requiring sharing and discussing personal identities relative to the work environment is strongly preferred.

Schedule Availability Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Some after‑hours work may be required to meet the needs of survivors.

Licences/Certifications Valid Oklahoma driver’s license; current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
