We are looking for a skilled
Carpenter
with strong framing and finish carpentry experience to join our field team. This role requires craftsmanship, reliability, and a commitment to building with care. While not a management position, the
Carpenter
plays a key part in enforcing onsite safety, quality control, and collaborative teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Be a full‑time, daily presence on the jobsite, available to support the project team
Communicate clearly with Project Managers and Supervisors to maintain schedule alignment
Uphold Hickory's Safety Policy at all times and ensure safe conditions for employees, subcontractors, and visitors
Work collaboratively with the full project team to prevent rework and support seamless project execution
Provide timely feedback on schedule issues, field conditions, and material demands
Maintain accurate inventory of materials and coordinate procurement needs
Track and document purchases, receipts, and jobsite records accurately
Problem‑solve proactively to resolve field conflicts without delays or quality loss
Maintain jobsite documentation, drawings, and specifications in an organized format
Perform carpentry tasks from foundations to detailed finish trim, both interior and exterior, with an exceptional standard of craftsmanship
Assist in preparing mockups, samples, or layout work as requested
Provide accurate layout for carpenters and subcontractors to 1/16" tolerances, maintaining plumb and square conditions
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction
Strong knowledge of framing, trim, and building assembly techniques
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
Experience working with varied material types, including wood, composite, and metal
Ability to install multi‑piece trim assemblies, custom millwork, doors, and specialty hardware
Ability to hold tolerances up to 1/16" and identify deviations to 1/64"
Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
High school diploma or GED required
Must own and maintain a professional set of carpentry tools
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and elevated platforms with proper PPE
Able to work in crawlspaces, attics, and tight or unfinished conditions
Able to work outdoors year‑round in varying weather conditions
Natural or corrected vision of 20/40 or better
