Job Title Drafter

Location WSP, Boise, ID (other Boise locations considered)

Job Description WSP is searching for a

Drafter

for its Boise, ID office. The role involves supporting the Power Delivery Team and contributing to projects that meet client objectives in planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following:

Develop innovative client-focused solutions.

Demonstrate a high level of personal initiative.

Encourage growth, engagement, and accountability among team members.

Work in a team environment to solve and build strong internal and external relationships.

Develop working knowledge of Client/Power CAD Standards and Compliance.

Adhere to WSP’s QA/QC procedures requiring utmost personal accountability.

Maintain a high level of drafting quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and budget.

Develop an understanding in both AutoCAD and MicroStation to support project requirements, including:

Vicinity Maps

Structure List

Plan and Profiles

Phasing Drawings

Foundation Drawings

Structure Assembly Drawings

Permit and Crossing Drawings

Load and Design Drawings

Seek a transmission line understanding beyond redline mark-ups.

Travel to client offices, field, and vendor facilities as needed.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct per WSP’s Code of Conduct.

Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma.

0-2 years’ experience.

General awareness of drafting and design support principles, practices, processes, methods, and techniques.

General awareness of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Effective self‑leadership with attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Ability to work independently under supervision and as part of a team.

Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adhering to WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements, which may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree or 1‑year certificate in drafting (or equivalent technical degree).

Minimum of 5 years of relevant post‑education experience in drafting and design support.

AutoCAD 2020‑2025 experience.
