Sheet Metal Mechanic

Location: Jacksonville, FL | Salary: $44,720.00–$78,520.00
Responsibilities
Prepare, fabricate and install sheet metal duct to specifications.
Install hangers, supports, according to plans or shop drawings and applicable specifications.
Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
Read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
Lay out work including hanger locations, duct routes, and equipment pads/curbs.
Install rectangular, spiral, and duct board with occasional insulated duct work.
Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Occasionally work in an attic or underneath a structure in a crawl space.
Qualifications
A valid driver’s license.
Clean driving record.
5 years of experience with commercial sheet metal duct installation.
Ability to read prints and construction drawings.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Effective communication skills.
Physical activities of walking and lifting weights of 50 pounds or more are required, standing, balancing, climbing stairs, ladders, and scissor/boom lifts in accordance with safety policies.
Trade knowledge of all joint methods for sheet metal duct including but not limited to slip and drive, TDC/F, and DuctMate.
Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, and wind.
OSHA 10-hour card.
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses/goggles, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
