Senior Mobile Diesel Technician – Fleet Services, Indianapolis, IN

Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges; road‑test vehicles to confirm functionality.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
Manage parts inventory, reconcile supplies, and obtain parts from approved vendors.
Document all work in the TRAIT application, upload pictures, and complete DOT forms accurately and timely.
Work independently, manage daily schedule, prioritize tasks, and meet standard repair times.
Communicate with clients, resolve issues, and provide technical support.
Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of related experience; alternative combinations of higher education or 5+ years of experience accepted.
At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
Set of hand tools required; OEM training and certifications preferred.
Valid DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining, or ability to complete DOT physical.
Minimum age 21 and possess a valid state driver’s license with capacity to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
Experience with DOT regulations and FMCSA compliance expected.

Ability to perform moderate to heavy labor, lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Effective written and verbal communication; able to convey information clearly.
Accurate judgment of tool and equipment requirements.
Spatial awareness and fine motor coordination for mechanical tasks.
Compensation Hourly base pay range: $31.49 – $47.26 per hour, may vary by location and qualifications.
