ADDMAN
Machinist Level II
At ADDMAN, you’ll be part of a skilled and growing team serving the defense, space and commercial aerospace industries.
Responsibilities
Operate, clean, and maintain various machining equipment including lathes, mills, 3‑axis machines, 5‑axis machines and other equipment to manufacture precise parts.
Follow safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment and ensuring all equipment and forklifts are functioning per design.
Utilize work instructions, set‑up sheets and method documents to correctly operate machines and inspect machined parts.
Read and interpret drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Record critical information such as material manufacture date, number of parts produced, and other production criteria.
Follow traveler/router instructions and machining procedures to perform the machining process.
Operate various equipment to produce parts to precise specifications using knowledge of metal properties, set‑ups, layouts, and precision machining procedures.
Read and understand sketches, blueprints, and tools, and use fixtures correctly.
Set up, learn, and run CNC or manual machinery.
Adjust controls to vary depth of cut, RPM, and feed efficiently.
Update inventory systems for usage and scrap, and prepare material tags for non‑conforming parts.
Follow detailed manufacturing processes to produce high‑tolerance parts.
Adhere to AS9100 and ISO 9000 standards and comply with internal Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
Use gauging equipment (calipers, micrometers, gage pins, height gages, dial indicators, precision scales) to ensure conformance to engineering specifications.
Maintain accurate counts and records of production pieces and hours.
Perform housekeeping and cleanup duties, and participate in 5S efforts.
Keep equipment and product free of FOD.
Promote teamwork within the organization.
Follow all company HR policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
U.S. person citizenship status (ITAR requirement).
Work independently with a strong work ethic and minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
Team player, willing to learn new skills and concepts.
Strong computer aptitude (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Experience in machining and quality processes (desired).
Experience with CNC machining processes (desired).
Knowledge of manufacturing/lean/Six Sigma principles (desired).
Work Environment Manufacturing areas with required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel‑toe boots, etc.). Ambient temperatures and typical plant lighting.
Physical Demands
Sit or stand as needed.
Walk on level surfaces periodically.
Reach above shoulder height, below waist, or lift as required.
Use proper lifting techniques.
Work in small confined spaces while following safety protocols.
