About the Role Our Architectural Façade Solutions division provides exterior wall panel and other building envelope systems in a variety of product and installation options. We create custom façade systems for all commercial construction needs. The Drafter/Designer role is a key part of the Engineering Department in the Architectural Division; preparing clear, complete and accurate working plans and shop drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret scope of work based on:
Architectural drawings
Estimating information
Specification sheets
Responsible for preparation of correlating shop drawings
Design and draft technical details and typical attachment methods
Effectively communicate with project managers, design consultants and subcontractors to produce and alter drawings
Review and check drawings for errors
Send and/or print CAD drawings in various formats
Draft panel layouts based on preliminary field conditions from hand dimensions or 3D scan
Produce panel fabrication sketches for CNC coding
Create install/As‑Builts sets of drawings for panel installation
Enter, record and file information in electronic form
Communicate effectively with both production and processing divisions
Actively assist with R&D on new systems as well as further development of existing systems
Qualifications
Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D; 3D experience a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Experience verifying field measurements
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, monitor own work to ensure quality
Team‑oriented and collaborative
Time‑management and multitasking skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while maintaining deadlines
Capability of adjusting to rapidly changing tasksHard worker with an eye for detail
Requirements
High School Diploma – Required
Associate or Bachelor’s degree – Preferred
Minimum 1–3 years previous drafting experience – Required
