Shop Sheet Metal Worker
and be part of a skilled team fabricating and assembling metal components for HVAC systems and industrial applications. This position is primarily shop-based with occasional field assignments.
Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components using brakes, shears, rollers, and plasma tables.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Prepare ductwork and fittings for HVAC systems.
Maintain safety standards and a clean work environment.
Assist with welding, soldering, and rigging tasks.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Must be 18 years or older.
Ability to read blueprints and perform accurate measurements.
Mechanical aptitude and physical stamina for lifting and bending.
4-year program: 8,000 hours on-the-job + 180 hours classroom annually.
Probationary period: 500 hours.
Aptitude test required (math, reading, mechanical reasoning).
Work Schedule
Four 10‑hour days (Mon–Thu), three‑day weekends.
Occasional travel within Minnesota and North Dakota; overnight stays possible.
Journeyman Scale (Bemidji): up to $44.76/hour base, $65.60/hour total package (including benefits).
Pre‑Apprentice Scale: Starting at $22.00/hour.

Advance to Foreman, General Foreman, or specialize in welding and fabrication.
