Position Description
Precision, contract machining business is looking for a Machinist for our Turning (Lathe) Department.
This position is responsible for setting up and running CNC Machines to produce precision components while maintaining quality standards in a fast‑paced environment. Monitors parts to ensure they are meeting customer specifications. Experience with Mazak machines is a plus.
Duties include:
Operates equipment to standard work practices within all quality and performance standards. (Mazak Lathe)
Interprets blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications.
Determine process, tools, programming (in Mazatrol) and setup.
Neatly and accurately completes all required paperwork.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
Ensure all safe work practices are followed.
Qualifications include:
High School diploma or equivalent.
3‑5 years experience preferred. Prefer experience in a Job Shop.
Familiarity with a variety of metals and plastics, and working on parts with very close tolerances.
Ability to inspect own work, troubleshoot and recommend optimal cutting tools a must.
Must be self‑directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Standard 1st shift: Monday thru Thursday, 6:00 am‑4:30 pm; OT Friday 6:00 am‑2:30 pm (when needed).
Salary based on experience and skill level.
