Experience with heavy equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes; construction, mining, farm equipment (excavators, skid steers, dozers, tractors); military heavy equipment (MRAP, HMEE, tanks); aircraft and aerospace or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE) Previous experience as a mechanic or technician focused on heavy equipment Education in mechanics, electrical or hydraulic systems Key Responsibilities
Replace electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components Troubleshoot using operator, parts, and maintenance manuals, HowFactory, and other resources Perform unit condition inspections and reports Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area Adhere to Altec Safety practices and procedures Advise supervisors of situations that may impact customer relationships Provide accurate information on required documents Demonstrate Altec Company Values Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or state-approved equivalency Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills Physical ability to move objects up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling High dexterity and tool policy compliance Valid driver’s license and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) Willingness to work overtime and advocate safety Benefits
