Real Estate Paralegal
Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman is the nation’s largest law firm focused on matters specific to health care organizations. Hall Render is seeking a full‑time experienced Senior Real Estate Paralegal to join a collaborative team of real‑estate attorneys and professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who enjoys sophisticated real estate work in a team environment. The Senior Real Estate Paralegal will participate in regular meetings with attorneys and consultants within the firm’s real‑estate service line. Responsibilities include drafting documents, reviewing due diligence materials, interacting directly with clients, and helping track and manage real‑estate transactions. The position requires the candidate to work in the Indianapolis office at least four days a week, excluding holidays and paid time off.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Escrow closing
Resolving title and survey; title and survey review
Lease administration support and drafting
Prepare a wide variety of related documents for transactions involving the sale, purchase, lease, or conveyance of real‑estate
Order and review title commitments and surveys
Draft objection letters in the event of title and survey issues
Conduct public records searches and other due diligence
Obtain certificates of existence/good standing for entities in multiple jurisdictions
Draft entity documents, including resolutions for sale or purchase of real‑estate
Prepare and file Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) financing statements
Conduct UCC searches and obtain copies of financing statements from appropriate jurisdictions
Assist attorneys throughout development project and zoning application process, including research, document preparation, and responsibility for all aspects of the notification process
Requirements, Education and Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of real‑estate experience as a paralegal in a law office or in‑house environment
Paralegal Degree or Paralegal Certificate
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word with an aptitude for learning various other applications
Prior experience in real‑estate practices and procedures
Excellent administrative, grammar, and proofreading skills
Strong organizational and time‑management skills and an ability to prioritize multiple tasks as assigned by the firm’s real‑estate service line attorneys
Dependable and detail‑oriented
High level of discretion and professionalism and the ability to operate under minimal supervision
Schedule
Monday to Friday
No travel
Work Location
Hybrid schedule with office presence four days per week at Hall Render’s Indianapolis office
