About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Secretary to join our Litigation Support team in Dallas. Please note this is not a hybrid/remote role. This role is critical to the success of our legal initiatives and requires exceptional typing skills, advanced document processing expertise, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting commercial litigation attorneys and demonstrate proficiency in legal document preparation, citation standards, and research tools such as Westlaw.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, edit, and format complex legal documents with accuracy and efficiency.
Manage binders and case materials from start to finish.
Prepare pleadings and supporting materials for filing, including cite checking, Table of Authorities, and Table of Contents.
Assist with preparation for interviews, depositions, hearings, trials, and client meetings.
Arrange logistics such as court reporters, interpreters, and conference rooms.
Organize exhibits, files, and supporting materials for trial, coordinate transportation and setup of case materials at court.
Proofread and edit documents for grammar, punctuation, and consistency.
Technical Expertise
Expert-level typing skills with speed and accuracy.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 (especially Word) for formatting complex legal documents.
Experience with Westlaw for legal research and cite verification.
Strong understanding of Bluebook citation rules and ability to perform cite checking.
Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., NetDocs) and e‑discovery tools (training provided).
Qualifications
3–5 years of related experience as a Legal Assistant or Word Processing Operator.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Notary Public preferred.
