We are currently seeking a reliable and caring Care Home Kitchen Assistant to support our dedicated catering team. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of our residents, by ensuring mealtimes run smoothly. You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive environment at Croft Care Home, where teamwork and kindness are at the heart of everything we do.
Rate of Pay : In line with the national minimum wage Location : Burton on Trent, DE15 (Please consider travel times, including on weekends, before applying)
Shift Pattern:
(repeats on a two-week rotation)
Hours: 8:00am – 6:00pm Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday Week 2: Monday, Saturday, Sunday
Key Responsibilities As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work alongside our Cooks to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment and assist in the preparation and serving of meals. Your duties will include:
Maintaining a hygienic kitchen and dining area Keeping accurate records of food supplies, temperatures and schedules Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety at all times Following statutory Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment Reporting any faults or issues promptly
We are looking for someone who is caring, friendly, and has good communication skills. Experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is beneficial, as is a valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
