SolidWorks Draftsperson
Pump & Hydraulics Design
Candler, Florida or SE United States Position Summary We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced SolidWorks Draftsperson with a strong background in pump and/or hydraulic system design to support our newly acquired Townley team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings to support engineering and manufacturing teams. This role requires technical expertise in fluid systems and mechanical components, as well as proficiency in SolidWorks and related design tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain
3D models and 2D drawings
for pumps, hydraulic systems, and associated components using SolidWorks.
Create
detailed assemblies, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and fabrication drawings
for manufacturing.
Collaborate with engineers to
interpret design requirements
and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Perform
design modifications and updates
based on feedback from engineering and production teams.
Ensure
accuracy and completeness of documentation , including tolerances, material specifications, and GD&T.
Support
prototype development and testing
by providing accurate design data.
Maintain
revision control and proper documentation
in accordance with company standards.
Assist in
design reviews
and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of experience
in drafting/design using SolidWorks (Certified SolidWorks Professional preferred).
Strong background in
pump design, hydraulics, or fluid power systems is a plus.
Knowledge of
mechanical design principles , materials, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and interpret
engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications .
Familiarity with
GD&T standards
and ASME drawing practices.
Proficient in
Microsoft Office Suite
and PDM systems for document control.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to
industrial pumps, hydraulic circuits, and fluid handling equipment .
Understanding of
machining, welding, and fabrication processes .
Experience with
CFD or FEA tools
for design validation (a plus).
Education
Associate degree or diploma in
Mechanical Engineering Technology , Drafting, or related field.
SolidWorks certification or experience is highly desirable.
