The
Cool To Be Blue
program in Wichita, KS, provides opportunities to learn the construction process with a built-in trajectory ranging from carpentry and steel erection to heavy equipment, concrete, and masonry operations.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Perform shovel work, demolition, concrete placing, and general site cleanup.
Assist with different trades as needed.
Meet quality expectations.
Adhere to efficient site practices and safety protocols.
Physical Requirements
Lift 50 pounds or greater occasionally; lift 25‑50 pounds frequently.
Work outdoors and stand for the majority of the day.
Perform tasks while walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling equipment.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on experience and performance.
Employee Expectations
Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
Be on time to the job site.
Maintain a positive attitude.
Be a team player.
Demonstrate a strong work ethic.
Other Considerations
Employment is conditioned on successfully passing a background check, drug screen, and physical capacity test.
Wages are based on experience and performance.
Work outside normal operating hours (7 am–4 pm; winter/fall 7 am–3:30 pm; spring/summer).
Employees are responsible for transportation to and from the job site.
Required Tools Provided by Candidate
Tool Bag (framing hammer minimum 16 oz, 25‑ft tape measure, nail bag, nail puller, quick square, utility knife).
Rubber boots.
