This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position This position is a

Military Technician

position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Area Maintenance Support Activity 26, Branch Maintenance Activity located in Bryan, Texas.

Duties

Troubleshoot, repair, modify and maintain a variety of construction, industrial, combat, tactical and powered support equipment such as bulldozers, tractors, trucks, tracked recovery vehicles, ambulances, generators and forklifts.

Remove and repair major systems or components of equipment to include power packs, transmissions, transfers, gear reduction units, injector pumps, air conditioners, fuel pumps and alternators.

Make idle speed, current, brake and transmission linkage adjustments.

Perform initial and in-process inspections, mechanical diagnostics and troubleshoot to localize defects and determine cause of malfunction, mechanical maintenance on defective parts, and minor body work.

Provide technical assistance to unit personnel.

Operate motor vehicles to perform the duties of this position.

Requirements

This position requires a medical examination prior to employment.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).

This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation.

This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.

This position requires a Class A CDL within 180 days of employment.
