Structural Steel Fitter / Welder
Join Bellingham Marine as a Structural Steel Fitter / Welder. Your work will involve laying out, fitting, and welding steel and aluminum components to assemble structural forms such as triangle frames, rectangle frames, pile frames, columns, struts, and other building parts.
Key responsibilities include:
Direct and lead employees
Read drawings
Develop layouts and tack parts
Calculate angles and areas
Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Operate small hand tools (grinders, drills, band saws)
Operate forklift
Set up and operate fabrication machines such as punches, shear, notcher, torch, or drill press
Position, fit, and align tack parts
Design and fabricate templates
Verify product conformance using blueprints and other means
Make repairs to products by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling
Other duties as assigned
Additional requirements:
Subject to random drug screening per company DFWP policy
May be subject to a background check
Dependability for work schedule is crucial
