Fire Sprinkler Fitter – Pye-Barker Fire & Safety
Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company. This position is responsible for configuring, installing, fitting, and maintaining various piping systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of those systems. Position Summary
Responsible for configuring, installing, fitting, and maintaining various piping systems, ensuring smooth operation. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials, including pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves. Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions and create working procedures based on specifications. Gather equipment and materials for the job. Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes. Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, clamp systems, or by cutting or boring holes prior to the project. Install various types of insulation and pipe coverings; safely remove and properly discard old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and EPA and OSHA requirements. Inspect pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; report and resolve problems. Coordinate with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations. Comply with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices. Maintain records, including safety logs and inspection details. Perform other duties assigned by management. Education & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Any vocational training is strongly desired. Other Duties
Ability to read schematics and blueprints. Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods standing and stretching to install and repair pipes and pipe fittings. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must possess visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints. Benefits and Perks
