CNC Mill/ Lathe Essential Functions

Setting production machinery for acceptable production processes and obtaining run approval.

Ability to edit and interpret G and M Code

Ability to prove out programs and set ups

Ability to run 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC Mills/ Lathes

Analyze machine, tool, and program issues and makes basic repairs, as well as handling minor routine maintenance.

Perform repetitive and custom work utilizing fixtures, machine stops, indexing devices, to control critical tolerances and dimensions.

Assure conformance to quality specifications using a variety of gages and indicators.

Effectively communicate with personnel at all levels.

Meet production quantity and quality standards.

Ensure safety guards and personal protective equipment are in place at all times.

Follow and enforce work Instructions, procedures, and company policies.

Requirements Qualifications/Competencies of a CNC Machinist

Thorough knowledge of specific department equipment and their processes.

Able to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions

Able to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action.

Must meet DOD eligibility requirements

Minimum 3-5 years CNC Milling/ Lathe Machining experience(Horizontal, Vertical, or Boring Mill)
