Summary Lays out, fits, can interpret blueprints to customer specifications for all pipe sized from 1" to 14".
Qualifications
One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training
3 years of pipe fitting required
3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read blueprints and use math skills
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
Must be able to work as a team
Ability to pass a drug test
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, or related equipment, according to blueprints.
Assemble or secure pipes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding.
Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
Modify, clean, or maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, or related machines or equipment, using hand or power tools.
Knowledge of API 1104 and ASME weldments highly desirable
Use advanced math including trigonometry
Knowledge of pipe formulas
Knowledge of Pipe Fittings and Takeoffs
Ability to layout and segment pipe to customer specs
Ability to cut pipe, and knowledge of beveling practices
