Indium Corporation
The Tool Maker I is responsible for learning and performing a variety of assigned manual duties to build, repair and maintain production tools, dies and fixtures for the operation of Indium machinery. Work is largely directed and performed under close or general supervision.
Job Functions
Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathes, milling machine, sharpeners, and grinder, to fashion tooling
Lubricate machines and maintain department equipment as necessary to create required tooling
Complete all required documentation to track work, record scrap, and maintain the accuracy of completed parts and required inventory
Perform simple sharpening, CAD, and welding operations when necessary
Work with and manipulate different tooling with minimal scrapped parts
Work with other support tools such as mics, gauges, lathes, dies and hand tools
Read and interpret simple drawings and diagrams with assistance
Sustain a steady work pace and follow a schedule
Maintain a clean work area
Uphold the standards necessary to maintain our business certifications and to maintain good quality standards and practices associated with them
Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Proven ability to operate standard tool room and/or machine shop equipment
Ability to interpret dimensional drawings
Familiarity with EDM a plus
Good oral and written communication skills
Basic to advanced math skills
Basic organizational skills
Shift/Site 111 Business Park Drive, Utica, NY Monday-Friday/ 2nd shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm
Salary The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity. $17.25 per hour - $25.25 per hour ($36,000 - $52,500 annually)
