Job Title: Tool and Die Maker Associate Job Summary The Tool and Die Maker Associate builds, repairs, and maintains dies, tools, fixtures, jigs, and gauges used in plant operations. This role works with minimal supervision, following blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions. All work must be performed safely and in compliance with IATF 16949:2016 standards. The associate supports tool room operations, production needs, and continuous improvement efforts while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Primary Responsibilities

Follow and enforce all safety procedures, including proper lockout/tagout during equipment repairs and cleaning.

Build new dies and tooling according to drawings and specifications.

Repair and maintain production dies and tooling; test tools to ensure proper operation.

Operate tool room equipment such as grinders, milling machines, lathes, and radial drills.

Measure and inspect tooling to ensure it meets specifications and close tolerances.

Use knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, and basic welding to complete repairs.

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on dies and tool room equipment.

Keep supervisors informed of safety concerns, equipment issues, and job progress.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and properly store tools and equipment.

Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately using the company system.

Perform daily equipment inspections, including overhead cranes.

Support production as needed and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.

Share information between shifts to prevent repeated issues and improve efficiency.

Job Requirements

College degree or technical training in Tool and Die Making or a related field

Experience operating overhead cranes

Valid forklift license or ability to obtain in-house certification
