About This Role Handling residential plumbing service tasks: troubleshooting, installing, repairing plumbing systems, diagnosing issues, executing repairs and installations, and ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with local codes. Requires strong problem‑solving skills and effective communication with homeowners.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
Diagnosing problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
Determining whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
Installing and assembling plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
Performing installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components
Testing for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety
Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
Managing the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts
Keeping equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
Maintaining safety equipment
Additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in residential and commercial plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair
Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems
Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations
Experience with pipe cutters, threaders, soldering tools, and other plumbing equipment
Problem‑solving skills to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and supervisors
Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods
Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment
Track record of delivering excellent customer service and professionalism
Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work‑management software to track tasks and report progress
Leadership and teamwork skills to lead apprentices, work within a team, and coordinate with other trades
Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls as needed
Valid driver’s license with clear driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience
Preferred Qualifications Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License. Additional certifications such as backflow prevention and gas piping are a plus.
The Physical Requirements Of This Job Include
Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work
Ability to drive
Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawlspaces
Capacity to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, both in person and by telephone
Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch
Exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, or snow
