Base Pay Range
$22.00/hr - $26.00/hr Supports the Viega Machine Shop’s mission of producing precision tooling that supports our manufacturing operations. This position will set-up and operate a variety of computer-controlled and mechanically-controlled machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments and tools of the highest quality standards. This position will regularly interact and problem solve with cross-functional team members across Viega. Responsibilities
Translate information from blueprints, sketches, specifications and CAD/CAM files to production of precision tools & dies. Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpiece. Set up, operate, and conversationally program conventional, manual, and computer-numeric controlled (CNC) machines and equipment. File, grind, and adjust parts so that they fit together properly. Quality check completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specification. Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and die. Work cooperatively with a wide variety of Viega departments and outside vendors. Prepare raw materials and tools prior to machining, cutting or deburring. Attend meetings as required and/or assigned. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Qualifications
Proficient in programming and operation of CNC equipment, including 5-axis machining. Ability to fixture and design methods of manufacturing complex parts. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD/CAM drawings. Ability to multitask and prioritize to manage multiple projects/assignments. Ability to work independently and make competent decisions. Strong communication skills to facilitate understanding and problem‐solving with cross‑functional teams and colleagues. Education and Experience
High‑School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of experience. Other Requirements
