STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to support a rapidly expanding Twin Otter restoration program based at St. Lucie County International Airport in Ft. Pierce, Florida. This is a hands‑on opportunity involving full aircraft tear downs, complete restorations, and total rebuilds.
This operation is built around a small, tight‑knit team that values professionalism, collaboration, and long‑term growth. This is not a contractor‑minded environment. The team is seeking a dedicated aviation professional who wants to become part of the organization and grow alongside the program.
All positions begin as open‑ended contract roles, with a clear path to direct hire based on performance and program needs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform complete aircraft tear downs, restorations, and rebuilds on Twin Otter aircraft
Fabricate, repair, and install sheet metal components in accordance with approved data
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and structural repair manuals
Perform precision drilling, riveting, forming, and fitting of aircraft structures
Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and company quality standards
Maintain accurate documentation of completed work
Collaborate closely with team members in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
Required Experience and Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of aircraft sheet metal experience
Strong fabrication experience is required
Prior MRO experience is preferred
Experience working on complete aircraft restorations or heavy maintenance strongly desired
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
