Job Summary The Prep Cook plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and ensuring all components are ready for service. This position focuses on accuracy, efficiency, and maintaining food safety standards in a fast‑paced environment. Prep Cooks work closely with line cooks and chefs to keep the kitchen organized and running smoothly.
Responsibilities
Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients according to recipes and standards.
Prepare basic sauces, dressings, and other components as directed.
Label, date, and store food items properly to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
Maintain a clean and organized prep station and assist with overall kitchen cleanliness.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Communicate effectively with kitchen team to ensure timely preparation.
Qualifications
Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
Basic knife skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb, and reach overhead.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
