Heavy Equipment Mechanic
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you are responsible for preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs on various construction equipment and vehicles, including concrete saws, commercial trucks, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other heavy machinery. This ensures efficient and safe operation, minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Job Shift and Schedule This is a Full Time Hourly Position, typically Monday – Friday with a 7 am start time and occasional overtime.
Detailed Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance: perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair actions.
Repair and Replacement: schedule, complete work orders, perform repairs and replacement of faulty parts.
Documentation and Reporting: maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment condition.
Safety Compliance: adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Team Collaboration: coordinate with operators, supervisors, and office staff on maintenance priority and equipment availability.
Training and Development: stay updated on industry advancements and participate in training to enhance skills related to the role.
Miscellaneous Assigned Tasks as Needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Some mechanic or maintenance experience.
Valid and current driver’s license (CDL a plus).
Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some weekends.
Small diesel engine repair experience preferred.
Hydraulic repair experience preferred.
Construction experience preferred.
Ability to work well in a team or independent setting.
Attention to detail and precision in work.
Ability to manage time and complete priority tasks.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for an entire shift.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
