Real Estate Paralegal
to join our team. Under the management of the Associate Director of Paralegals and at the direction of the Real Estate Team Lead and Real Estate attorneys, this position will assist in rendering legal services in the area of commercial real‑estate and acquisitions, real‑estate finance, leasing, and real‑estate development.
Responsibilities
Coordinate documentation and closing of real estate transactions, including sales, purchases, leases, and mortgage financing.
Review title commitments, title documents and surveys.
Compose, edit, and prepare written material such as transaction documents, correspondence and other legal documentation.
Ensure all pre‑closing preparation and post‑closing follow‑up is completed in a timely manner.
Perform legal research, including retrieval of statutes, regulations, and electronic research using Westlaw, Lexis and the Internet.
Record documents with the various Recorder’s offices.
Draft documents and correspondence.
Correspond with clients and organizations in writing, by telephone or electronic communications, as directed by the supervising attorney.
Enter time and release it on a daily basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Experience handling all support aspects of a commercial real‑estate transaction, including title/survey review, due diligence, document drafting, and closing/post‑closing procedures.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain organized files for voluminous transactions.
Strong analytical, organizational and detail‑oriented skills.
Professional communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external clients at all levels.
Problem‑solving ability, independent thinking and the capacity to tackle projects with minimal supervision while maintaining timely and efficient organization.
Availability to work early, late or weekends with little or no notice as required by the critical needs area.
Regular attendance at scheduled work days and times.
Flexibility and the ability to handle pressure and adapt to changing work priorities.
Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
6–10 years of experience with RE transactional work, including title and survey projects.
Some travel may be required at times.
Compensation At the time of posting, the estimated California, Colorado, Illinois and New York range is $120,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation will be influenced by relevant experience, skill sets, training, licensure, internal equity, market data, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. The range is based on a full‑time work schedule. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
