Merion Landscape Services LLC is a dynamic company that plays a crucial role in keeping the world moving. We are currently seeking a Small Engine 2-Cycle Mechanic to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining our fleet of vehicles that are vital to our operations. The successful candidate will have experience with a variety of small engines, including gas and diesel, and will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing engines. This role requires a self‑motivated individual who can work independently and manage a busy work schedule.

Responsibilities

Perform welding and fabrication work for vehicles and equipment

Schedule repair and maintenance through work center supervisors

Inspect, diagnose, and repair small engines used in a variety of applications

Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, tune‑ups, and tire rotations

Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts and components as necessary

Test run repaired engines to ensure proper functioning

Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed

Order replacement parts and supplies as needed

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Follow all safety procedures and guidelines

Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations

Assist customers with questions or concerns related to their small engines

Train new employees on proper repair and maintenance techniques

Stay up-to-date on the latest industry news and developments

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years of experience as a small engine mechanic

Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to lift heavy objects and work in uncomfortable positions

Must have a current and valid driver’s license

Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required

Associate’s degree in Small Engine Mechanics (preferred)

Certification from a nationally recognized organization, such as the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) (preferred)

Working knowledge of lawn mowers, generators, and other small engines (preferred)
