Job Purpose: The Set Up Machinist (Level 3) at Precision Medical Technologies is responsible for setting up and operating complex machinery to produce precision medical components. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet stringent industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce parts according to specifications.

Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining operations.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments to machinery settings.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

Document production activities and maintain accurate records of machine settings and part specifications.

Train and mentor junior machinists, providing guidance and support in developing their technical skills.

Qualifications Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machining or a related field is preferred.

Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist, with a focus on set-up operations.

Proven track record of working with precision medical components and understanding of industry standards.

Experience in operating and setting up CNC machines and manual machining equipment.

Required Skills and Abilities

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in ensuring high-quality production.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing setting.

Effective communication skills to liaise with engineering and production teams.
