JOB SUMMARY The Press Brake Operator shapes and forms sheet metal into parts, meeting daily production targets. The role involves operating press brake machines, ensuring quality, and maintaining a safe, continuous‑improvement workplace.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up, operate, and maintain press brake and other metalworking equipment.

Check product quality for correct shapes, dimensions, and specifications.

Troubleshoot and perform corrective actions on non‑conforming parts.

Transport materials manually or using overhead crane/pallet jack.

Use barcode scanners to log and move material.

Provide timely information regarding production issues.

Analyze tooling, setups, and procedures; recommend improvements.

Interpret manufacturing drawings for proper machine setup.

Detect improper part forming promptly.

Work as part of a team to improve operations through continuous improvement activities.

Complete routine maintenance on press brakes and other bending machines.

Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Meet production goals as agreed with the Machining and Fabrication Supervisor.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Accuracy and precision in sheet metal operations.

Calculate and check tonnage required for bending based on metal specifications.

Knowledge of Trumpf bending machines and their user interface.

Ability to troubleshoot material problems and educate CAD team.

Safe use of hand tools and lifting devices such as overhead cranes.

Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings.

Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformity.

Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.

Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.

Understand production processes with a focus on quality.

Required background screening and drug test compliance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Consistent attendance is required. The role involves regular exposure to shop noise, dust, and particles, with flexibility needed for troubleshooting tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Active role with manual dexterity; use of hands and feet.

Heavy lifting of metal, often >50 lb.

Stand, reach, bend, squat, push, pull, and move throughout the facility.

Walk or stand for at least 8+ hours per day.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 2nd shift.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum 5 years working directly with press brakes.

Minimum 1 year using Trumpf bending machines.

Proficiency with hand and power tools and hydraulic equipment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

Experience with plate rolling, including cones.

Experience with profile bending.

Equipment manufacturing background is a plus.

PRE‑HIRES Ability to pass a drug test and background check; completion of an I‑9 form.
