1st Shift Resident Assistant - Weekly Pay, PTO, Bonus & More

Magnolia Meadows is a 19-room assisted-living residence that has been serving Manitowoc, Wisconsin community for almost 20 years. Through the passionate pursuit of excellent care and superior service, we help make the treasured years of our residents fulfilling, purposeful and enjoyable through community activities, socialization and a warm, inviting environment. Responsibilities

Provide assistance as needed with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including: Dressing and undressing (clothing should be clean and appropriate for the season) Personal hygiene (bathing, shaving, dental hygiene, nail care, hair care, foot care) Mobility devices (cane, walker, wheelchair, crutches) including monitoring of safe transfer and ambulation techniques Care of ADL devices such as eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids Administer medications consistent with CBRF certified and appropriate community training and medication policies Properly and accurately dispense medications to the facility residents Recognize symptoms and side effects of medications as prescribed by physician as needed Monitor medication supplies Perform accurate documentation including inventory, orders, Schedule II medications at the start/end of shift Housekeeping tasks as needed such as: Resident room vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathroom, bed making and bed changes Resident laundry Commons areas and public bathrooms on schedule and as needed Replaces household items such as light bulbs, garbage liners, batteries, etc. Observes and reports changes in residents’ physical condition and cognitive and emotional status to the Executive Director as needed Conducts room checks and resident rounds Monitors for environment safety hazards Records incidents, errors, or accidents Assists in a variety of tasks relating to dining, encouraging independence (escorting residents to dining room if needed, setting up and cleaning tables, serving meals, and bussing tables). May be required to help to prepare meals and snacks. Demonstrates a respect of residents and an understanding of the aging process, and understanding of family dynamics in the aging family Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment Encourage and assist residents with participation in community activities. To be a team player, willing to help your co-workers even if the resident might not be under your direct group for cares Follow all privacy guidelines regarding health information of the residents Keeping “gossip” and “negativity” out of the workplace Be able to familiarize yourself with individual resident needs and care plans Document accordingly and neatly for resident charting Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director Physical Demands

Frequent lifting of 25-30 pounds and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds Exerting up to 35 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
