Position Summary
The Cookie Decorator is responsible for creating beautifully decorated sugar cookies and specialty baked goods that align with the Dolce Bakery brand and vision. This role blends artistic skill with technical execution and supports the Creative Director in bringing custom designs to life. The Cookie Decorator works closely with the Creative Director and bakery team to fulfill customer orders and stock the bakery case with eye‑catching, high‑quality items.
Essential Responsibilities
Decorate sugar cookies and other baked goods using piping, flooding, hand‑detailing, and other techniques
Execute designs based on customer orders, seasonal collections, and creative direction
Organize and manage decorating projects to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely fulfillment
Package finished items for display, customer pickup, or delivery
Communicate regularly and clearly with the Creative Director and kitchen team to align on design and quality standards
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well‑organized decorating station
Assist with training or mentoring new decorators when requested by the Creative Director
Support the broader kitchen team with additional tasks as needed
Follow all food safety and sanitation practices
Deliver consistently beautiful, on‑brand finished products that delight customers
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in cookie decorating techniques including piping, flooding, lettering, and fine detail work
High attention to detail and artistic ability
Ability to take creative direction and also work independently
Strong time management and organizational skills
Comfortable in a fast‑paced, collaborative kitchen environment
Positive, team‑oriented attitude with strong communication skills
Understanding of basic food safety and handling protocols
Education & Experience
Previous experience in cookie or cake decorating preferred
Culinary, baking, or pastry education is a plus
Familiarity with decorating tools such as piping bags, tips, spatulas, and food‑safe paint brushes
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Frequent use of hands, bending, reaching, and standing
Must be able to immerse hands in water for cleaning tasks
Comfortable working in a warm, humid kitchen environment
