Company Overview Five Paws of Delaware County is a small business based in Delaware County, PA, committed to providing reliable animal care when owners cannot be present. We offer a range of services including daily dog walks, vacation visits, overnight stays, and cat care, and we pride ourselves on a supportive and enjoyable work environment for our staff.

Schedule This is a part‑time position. Candidates should be available consistently Monday through Friday between 10 am and 3 pm, with additional earning opportunities before 10 am, after 3 pm, and on weekends.

Typical hours: 15–30 hours per week.

Operating hours: 7 am to 10 pm.

Availability blocks (no guarantee of continuous work): • Early Daytime: 7 am – 2 pm • Daytime Only: 9 am – 3 pm • Evening/Weekend: 5 pm – 10 pm (at least 3 days per week, 3 weekends per month) • Overnight Pet Sitting (optional earning opportunity)

Must be available to work on major holidays.

Location

Hiring in Newtown Square and surrounding communities.

Service areas include Aston, Brookhaven, Glen Mills, Newtown Square, Media, Drexel Hill, Havertown, Springfield, Swarthmore, Clifton Heights, Broomall, Aldan, Secane, and nearby areas.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $17 – $21 per hour (base pay with bonuses and client gratuities).

Monthly range: $1,000 – $2,300.

Overnight services: flat rate of $79.95 per night.

Additional benefits: 100% client gratuity, mileage reimbursement, employee discount, and paid on‑the‑job training.

Responsibilities

Provide daily dog walks, vacation visits, overnight stays, and cat care.

Show empathy and patience with all pets, from large dogs to small mammals.

Communicate professionally in writing and verbally with clients and management.

Be reliable and dedicated—animals depend on us at all times.

Work outdoors in all weather conditions across all four seasons.

Use a modern cell phone with texting, photography, data, and GPS capabilities.

Collaborate as a team player and practice effective time management to arrive on time for all visits.

Maintain a strong desire to care for animals while ensuring their safety.

Ideal Candidate

Honest, patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about high‑quality visits for dogs and cats.

Prior professional or volunteer animal experience is preferred; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Enjoys an active, outdoorsy work environment, walking independently regardless of weather.

Available for evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts is advantageous.

Seeking a career beginning or a growth opportunity with dogs.

Many current staff have backgrounds in dog walking, doggy daycare, grooming, or shelter volunteering.
