Position Overview: To perform defined resident care procedures that do not require the skill, certification, or training required for a Certified Nurse Aide (“CNA”). The Non-Certified Aide is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Check resident temperatures
Assist with room changes; remove linen, sanitize bed, and replace with clean linen
Assist residents in repositioning in bed
Assist residents in transferring from bed to chair
Assist with walking residents
Assist with bed bath/perineal care
Assist dependent residents with dressing
Assist residents with bathroom care
Assist residents during mealtimes by, feeding, or offering hydration as needed.
Assist with oral care, hearing aid placement, and denture care
Build positive relationships with residents by engaging in meaningful conversation and offering companionship.
Assist with residents' medication passes and proper documentation
Respond to residents' call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety, and privacy
Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of the community (dining room, lobby, and activities)
Follow proper infection control techniques
Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality
Follow safe working practices and report any incidents promptly to the Clinical Director.
Treat all residents with kindness, respect, and dignity
Must demonstrate empathy, courteous, kind, and professional workplace behavior and customer service to all residents, Care Team Members, vendors, visitors, and family members.
Attends all mandatory in-services; and completes timely all necessary Relias trainings scheduled to perform
Assist when needed with cleaning and sanitizing residents' rooms, hallways, dining areas, bathrooms, and other areas within the community.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
No certification is required; training will be provided
This position requires the care team member to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language.
This position requires the care team member to be able to react decisively and quickly in emergencies.
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic with a strong desire to help others.
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents, families, and coworkers.
