Diesel Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing medium‑duty trucks, focusing on diesel engines and hydraulic systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to read schematics and perform electrical diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on medium‑duty trucks.

Diagnose and repair diesel engines.

Repair air brake systems.

Read and interpret schematics.

Work on and understand the functionality of hydraulic systems.

Diagnose and address electrical issues with trucks.

Conduct wiring diagnostics.

Troubleshoot check engine lights and drivability issues.

Essential Skills

Experience in preventative maintenance.

Expertise in hydraulics and diesel engines.

Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and repairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Valid driver’s license.

At least 3 years of experience in diesel mechanics.

Experience with hydraulics.

Work Environment Training is conducted Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The first shift runs from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and the second shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Flexibility on days and availability to work weekends are required. The work environment is structured to ensure safety and efficiency, with a commitment to providing all necessary personal protective equipment.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Junction, CO.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
