Job summary Assemble cabinets from engineering drawings, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

Installation and fabrication of cabinet components and hardware.

Set up and operate a variety of machines and use hand tools to fabricate cabinets.

Mark outlines or dimensions of parts according to blueprint or drawing specifications.

Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.

Requirements

One or more years of cabinet making experience or similar experience.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions.

Close attention to detail.

Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.

Ability to laminate cabinets and panels as needed.

Familiar with the safe operation of various pneumatic and power tools, including drills, screw guns, table saw, band saw, and routers.

Ability to use basic mathematics.

Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently walks. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to sit. Other physical requirements include:

Ability to regularly lift and move up to 40 lbs.

Ability to work from squatting, kneeling or bending positions.

Ability to work with arms above head.

Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.

Ability to stand at a workstation for eight hours a day (minus breaks).

Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.

Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Must be able to endure repetitive motions (hand crimping).

Employee must not suffer from any preexisting conditions such as carpal tunnel or tennis elbow that may be aggravated by such motions.

Ability to work in 105-degree heat for more than ten hours per day.

Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.

The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee may work near electrical parts and be at risk of shock. The employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is elevated.
