Line Cook – Hotel Iroquois & Harbour View Inn, Mackinac Island, MI.
Season: 4/1/26 – 11/5/26.
Positions: 7 temporary full‑time roles.

Company Overview HIS‑Mackinac operates two hotels on historic Mackinac Island, a car‑free destination that attracts over 10,000 visitors daily. During the summer season we employ approximately 150 staff members. We seek energetic, customer‑focused individuals who enjoy working with diverse guests and teammates.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and specials on the kitchen line from prepared recipes and at the direction of the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs for service to customers.
Use grill, sauté, bake, and fry techniques to prepare quality menu items for fine dining a la carte service, catering, and outdoor BBQ.
Butcher and dress animals, fowl, or shellfish, or cut and bone meat prior to cooking.
Carve and trim meats such as beef, veal, ham, pork, and lamb for hot or cold service, or for sandwiches.
Maintain a clean workspace and ensure it is prepared for the next service.
Work shifts of 7 am–3 pm and 3 pm–11 pm, Sun–Sat. One day off per week. Days off and shifts vary. 35–40 hrs per week. OT varies after 40 hrs.
No minimum education required.
Minimum 1 year prior kitchen cooking experience required.
Must lift 50 lbs.
Post‑employment criminal background check and drug testing upon reasonable suspicion.
Compensation & Benefits
Wage: $15.96 / hr; overtime: $23.94 / hr.
Workers paid bi‑weekly.
Optional lodging available at $90 / week (deducted from pay if elected). Optional board & lodging at $135 / week (deducted from pay if elected). Housing deposit $150 due upon arrival.
On‑job training provided. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at the employer’s discretion based on performance, skill, and tenure.
After completing 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence to and from the place of recruitment. Upon contract completion or earlier dismissal, the employer will provide or pay for reasonable return transportation and subsistence costs, except where the worker does not return due to subsequent employment or voluntary abandonment.
Daily subsistence of at least $12.68 during travel, up to $55.00 with receipts. H2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for related visa and border fees (excluding passport fees).
Employer provides all tools, supplies, and equipment required for the job.
Work hours equal at least 3 / 4 of the workdays in each 12‑week period of total employment.
