Agency: NYS Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, Office of. Location: 6105 E Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville, NY 13078 (Onondaga County). Occupational Category: Enforcement or Protective Services. Salary Grade: 13. Salary Range: $61,587 to $93,129 annually. Employment Type: Full‑Time, Permanent, Competitive Class. Travel: 10%. Workweek: 40 hours with schedule varying by agency needs, 12 AM–11:30 PM, no flextime. Responsibilities

The New York State Park Police protect the state’s natural and historic treasures. Officers (trainees to full officers) may: handle large crowds, assist park users, search for and rescue missing persons, make arrests, conduct investigations, provide emergency services, enforce marine law, oversee snowmobile safety, and participate in high‑angle and swift water rescues. Minimum Qualifications

Age: at least 20 years old at hire; not over 43 by 1 Oct 2026 (military time off may be subtracted). Education: 60 college semester credit hours, or 30 credits plus 1 year required experience, or military service options (active or reserve/Guard). High school diploma or GED required. Experience: 2 years of US military service (honorable discharge); 2 years reserve or Guard; or 2 years full‑time experience as a NY‑state police officer with valid municipal training certification. Citizenship & Residency: U.S. citizen, NY state resident at hire and thereafter. Driver’s License: valid NY state license, maintained during employment. Additional Requirements

Travel for recruiting and training, background investigation, medical and psychological exams, drug testing (no cannabis), visual acuity ≥20/30 (corrected). Eligibility for geographic pay adjustments and local supplements in specified counties. Application Process
