About this Role – Field Mechanic II We are looking for a talented Field Mechanic who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing all types of heavy equipment, trailers and vehicles.
What You’ll Do
Diagnose, inspect and repair diesel engines, gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air conditioning systems, compressors, generators, suspensions, brakes, transmissions, fuel injection systems, ignition systems and air tools.
Replace and repair damaged components.
Perform engine flushing/cleaning, parts lubrication, oil changes and maintenance checks on all equipment.
What You’ll Bring
Extensive (5‑8) years experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment (wheeled and tracked) or trucks.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and diagrams.
Ability to seek out and find minor deficiencies with fleet equipment.
Strong welding (MIG/TIG) and fabrication skills (torches, welders, band saws, drills, etc).
Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one.
Ability to perform DOT Regulations.
Good organizational and record‑keeping skills.
Ability to travel to job sites and provide mechanical oversight to equipment on numerous projects throughout a geographical area.
Proficient in the use of diagnostic and testing equipment.
Customer service skills.
High School graduate.
