Our client is a leading provider of custom mechanization solutions for high-profile architectural structures and immersive attractions. They collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction professionals to develop integrated and reliable systems tailored to unique engineering challenges. Their diverse project portfolio spans the Aerospace, Amusement, Entertainment, Stadium, Observatory, and Custom Crane industries. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to signature projects from a new and growing office in Florida.
Position Responsibilities
Develop structural concepts Estimate weights and member sizes Create preliminary proposals Conduct detailed designs using engineering software and current codes Produce calculations Generate structural drawings Perform field and shop inspections Interface with clients to manage budgets and timelines Lead and coordinate design teams Participate in design reviews with contractors, architects, and consultants Collaborate with internal mechanical and electrical teams Track and report project status to internal stakeholders Coordinate materials procurement with purchasing and field teams Support prototyping, implementation, and documentation efforts Assist with producing operation and maintenance manuals Visit vendors to ensure quality and expectations are met Contribute technical content for marketing and publishing efforts Monitor design budgets and schedules Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in function, cost, and maintenance Position Requirements
B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with 5+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. with 3+ years of experience E.I.T. certification Proficiency in 3D modeling and FEA software Solid understanding of applicable structural codes and standards Experience with tools such as SAP2000, StaadPro, Risa3D, SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATHCAD Strong ability to work independently and apply sound engineering judgment Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex structural problems Effective communication and collaboration across teams Self-directed with strong organizational and planning skills Ability to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally Preferred Requirements
M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering P.E. or S.E. licensure Experience designing large mechanical systems or integrating structural components with dynamic systems Knowledge of fabrication processes and hands-on shop experience Background in evaluating design risks and collaborating with clients to develop innovative solutions Reasons to Apply
